The Toastmasters meeting of the 20th of May 2015 was a rather quiet evening of prepared speeches. The Toast of the day was made to “Volunteers” proposed by Dick Hallet and the word of the evening was “Transcendence“ as proposed by Tinahe Ncube.
The Toastmaster of the Evening was Tinahe Ncube and we had the following guest at our meeting: Area Governor Nico du Plessis
The following members where present: : Des Smith, Di Sharp, Luther Feros, Dick Hallett, Tinahe Ncube, Sipho Mda, Luis de Sousa, Christian Nyakanyanga, Anjuli Maistry.
We had two successful prepared speeches:
▪ CC2 by Anjuli Maistry Entitled “Feminisim” evaluated by Louis de Sousa
▪ CC10 by Sipho Mda Entitled “Dreams Do Not Come True” evaluated by Dick Hallett
The Area governor addressed the meeting explaining why he joined Toastmasters and explaining how it has helped him in his life.
Des smith also gave an address on conferences.
Table Topics where where skipped and people where treated to an educational by Christian Nyakanyanga.
The Grammarian deemed all the speeches where acceptable according to the Toastmaster rules.
The grizzly bear was awarded to Sipho Mda for successfully completing his CC10.
