The theme of the evening was “Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work”. The word of the day for the Johannesburg Toastmasters Club Meeting held on the 18th of June 2014 was “Mortified”as proposed by Khanyiswa Nogomba
The toast of the day was provided by Christian Nyakanyanga which was themed around togetherness and the toast to Toastmasters international was done by Tinahe Ncube who highlighted the importance of leadership in the club.
As is the norm at Johannesburg Toastmaster we had some guests, Gugu Bhebhe, Natalie Moyo, Thabo Malefane and Nthabiseng Lebuhu.
Tinahe Ncube was the Toastmaster of the day and he guided us through a fun filled and jam packed Toastmasters meeting.
We had two successful prepared speeches:
- CC1 – by Sipho Mda titled “My second initiation” and evaluated by Luther Feros.
- CC10 – by Christian Nyakanyanga titled “Let Go” and evaluated by Des Smith.
Toastmasters’ year is from July 2014 to June 2015 as we have approached the end of the year there was an election of the club officers for the new year.
Club Officers for next Toastmasters’ year are:
- President – Luther Feros
- Vice President Education – Christian Nyakanyanga
- Vice President Membership – Di Sharp
- Vice President Public Relations – Tinahe Ncube
- Secretary – Khanyiswa Nogomba
- Treasurer – Des Smith
The table topics segment was chaired by Des Smith and the topic was “What is your dream and what will you do to make it happen”
Although everyone contributed to the meeting The grizzly bear was awarded to Christian Nyakanyanga for completing his CC10.
