The Toastmasters meeting of the 17th of June 2015 was a pleasant evening of prepared speeches. Des Smith made the Toast of the day “Peace Keeping Missions” and the proposed word of the evening was “Initiative” suggested by Di Sharp.
The Toastmaster of the Evening was: Sipho Mda and we had the following guests at our meeting: Mpho Mhokoro, Thokozani Miya, Tamaryn Frost, Lebo Seishedi, Wairimu Mbatia
The following members where present: Di Sharp, Luther Feros, Dick Hallett, Luis de Sousa, Christian Nyakanyanga,Des Smith, Sipho Mda, Amiel Holilal.
We had two successful prepared speeches:
▪ CC4 by Thokozani Miya Entitled “ I just want to fly” evaluated by Luther Feros.
▪ ACB by Christian Nyakanyanga Entitled “Kill the Chicken” evaluated by Dick Hallett.
Table Topics where handled by Louis de Sousa who decided to be trendy and used the new toastmasters app.
The Grammarian deemed all the speeches where acceptable according to the Toastmaster rules.
The Election of 2015/16 Club Committee went successful with Christian Nyakanyanga being elected as Club President, Louis de Sousa as VP Education, Sipho Mda as VP Public Relations, Tinahe Ncube as VP Membership, Des Smith as the Treasurer, Amil Holilal as Sergeant of arms and Linda van Deventer as Secretary.
The grizzly bear was awarded to Thokozani Miya for great improvement on CC4 speech.
